Well, preorders are well under way for the upcoming tapes. Check that out under the releases tab, if you haven’t done so already. For the 1994! tape, we had a bit of a hold up. We had a slight difference in “vision” (maybe?) with the guy who was going to be selling us the tapes. No hard feelings, just a difference of opinion. HOWEVER! This turned out well for us and you (maybe not the guy previously doing the tapes for us, his loss, I suppose). As it turns out, the tapes will cost us quite a bit less to make now with the same end result. CUTTIN’ OUT THE MIDDLE MAN! So… for those of you who have preordered already, you’ll be getting a few dollars sent with your tape to make up for the difference. As soon as we recalculate the costs we’ll update the paypal link price. Cool? Yeah, we think so, too. Also, this added time may result in a slight change in the j-card insert for the 1994! tape. I guess Mike is still plugging away at making that as rad as possible.
What else is there to say? I’m on spring break right now and relaxing while watching some basketball with my dad. MARCH MADNESS! The free time allowed me to do some 1″ button designs. We ordered those today through My Friends and I. I believe they are releasing upcoming Merchant Ships material, so check that out, and I highly recommend working with them for any of your 1″ button needs.
Here are the designs, we’ll send them out with all orders:
In the next few weeks, once we have these two tapes out, we’ll be announcing some summer plans; including new releases, lots of shows, and maybe a band that Cameron and I will be involved in.

I admit it.
Okay, so this is partly a post about Suis La Lune’s 10″ that came out in 2008 and mostly a plea to Suis La Lune to tour the west side of the U.S. Seriously, dudes. Come out west and Cameron and I will travel along with, doing whatever needs to be done.
Enough of that… Seriously. This EP. Four songs featuring some of the best screamo that I have ever heard, especially if you’re into the clean guitars. If you don’t already own this, you’re seriously missing out. This might be OOP, but you also might be able to find it at some distro. Rumor has it that Suis La Lune is working on a new record and will also be part of one of those “Connections” splits featuring like 6 bands from across the world. Also, Suis La Lune will be touring the east coast and midwest this summer, check the tour dates on their myspace page.

Both of our upcoming cassettes (1994! – Thank You Arms and Fingers, and I Create – All We Are Is Now) are now available for preorder. As of right now, it appears that 1994! tapes will probably go out mid-April, and I Create tapes will ship late April to early May. The first few people to preorder either of the 2 tapes will receive something else for free. It could be something from the distro, another tape, a shirt, we haven’t decided yet. We will surprise you. To preorder either tape, go to our Releases page.

Old Canes is the solo project of The Appleseed Cast’s frontman Chris Crisci. This album came out in 2004, but I just heard it for the first time last week. If you are familiar with Appleseed Cast’s sound and song writing, you will probably see the similarities immediately. Crisci, it seems, decided to take the atmospheres and effects of TAC and replace them with strummed guitars, banjos, harmonicas, toy pianos, xylophones, trumpets, and the like. In short, Early Morning Hymns is the perfect soundtrack to driving in Montana forests or waking up in the woods to a bright morning.

Ahh, this ep is far too short. Imagine a band raised solely on a diet of Built to Spill that stumbles upon American Football one day, falls in love, and records these songs the following day. This band is Forming. I believe the best word to describe the sound is “ambling.” Interestingly enough, this ep was put out by Vitriol Records. Yeah, Ghostlimb, Graf Orlock, and Dangers should come to mind, just maybe not when you’re listening to Forming. Definitely check this one out and maybe buy a t-shirt or pick up an actual copy of this.

So, today I woke up with a crazy fever. I’m staying home from school in order to quarantine myself and play video games. Who needs school anyway, right? So I realized that I haven’t posted anything on the blog in a fortnight. Shit’s been crazy around here, man. Reaaall crazy. If my rant seems slightly feverish, it actually is. I apologize in advance.
So what’s new? I sent off all the information for pressing the 1994! tape yesterday. Dylan and I could not be more excited. As soon as I get the exact prices, the order will be official and we need only to wait a few weeks and then add the finishing touches. Please, curb your enthusiasm. I Create tapes are also coming along nicely, just a little bit slower. We ran into a few snags with artwork but it all should be resolved soon. I’m also under the impression that we were recently mentioned in an I Create interview w/ a Russian Magazine. That’s pretty cool, right? We’re blowing up! Next stop, Alternative Press!
So that’s enough about us. I decided to post some Boy Problems shit because, well, I love them. If you don’t know them, frankly, I’d be surprised. This band has gotten a lot of buzz (along with associated bands like Make Me and Boys and Sex) and they totally deserve it. It’s catchy and heartfelt and fun and clever and awesome. Here is their tour demo:
On a semi-related note, you should also check out Boyfriends’ new songs. The band consists of our friends in 1994! and two other members. The second song features guest vocals by Peter from Algernon. I’m diggin’ it. Check them out here:
